Geoff Unwin appointed OpenCloud chairman

OpenCloud is seeking to maintain strong growth by appointing technology veteran Geoff Unwin as chairman.

Unwin is tasked with providing the strategic guidance necessary to sustain the telecom software firm’s 100% CAGR, which it achieved over the past three years, and guiding it through industry consolidation.

He began his career in the late 1960s at the Hoskyns Group, where he became an influential figure and reached the post of managing director in 1984, before overseeing the firm’s flotation and subsequent acquisition by Cap Gemini.

Unwin held the position of chief executive at Cap Gemini E&Y until 2002, leading the acquisition of Ernst & Young's consulting activities during his tenure. He is currently chairman at electronics firm Halma, and search engine software outfit Taptu, and is an advisor to private equity group Palamon
