Government fines incoming Nokia CEO

Olli Pekka Kallasvuo, the next CEO of the Finnish telecomms solutions provider Nokia, has reportedly been fined 31,000 euros for failing to declare imported goods worth 11,000 euros, a Nordic Business report said.

The fine had already been confirmed last September 2004, but the matter did not attract media attention as the minor tax fraud was not a court case.

In Finland the size of a fine depends on the offender's income level, the report said.
