The latest operator data from the Global mobile Suppliers Association claims that LTE (both FDD and TDD) is moving forwards rapidly with 174 networks being deployed in 64 countries. Of these, 26 are running commercially. Further, LTE is being trialled, tested or investigated by another 63 operators in 21 countries, meaning that 237 operators in 85 countries are now investing in LTE. The GSA said that the strong momentum towards deploying LTE in refarmed spectrum, particularly 1800MHz, is continuing, with five networks using this spectrum having already launched in Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Singapore.
