IDC: Worldwide WLAN market shows slower growth in Q4 2014

The combined consumer and enterprise worldwide wireless local area network (WLAN) market segments increased 7 per cent year-on-year in the fourth quarter of 2014, according to a recent report from IDC. This compares to 7.4 per cent year-on-year growth in the third quarter of last year. The enterprise segment continued to grow at a steady rate and increased a further 7.4 per cent over the same period last year. For the full year 2014, the enterprise WLAN market grew 8.5 per cent year over year, significantly lower than the gains seen in the last few years, IDC noted. Meanwhile the consumer WLAN market increased 6.5 per cent year-on-year in Q4 2014. This represents a slight increase from the 5.6 per cent year-on-year growth seen in Q3 2014. Report
