Intec Telecom Systems has successfully completed an "eco friendly" performance benchmark of the Intec Convergent Billing (SingleView 6.01) product, using a grid of Sun SPARC enterprise servers with CoolThreads technology running the Solaris 10 operating system.
The company says the benchmark demonstrates the capability to distribute the charging, billing and customer care application across multiple low-cost Sun Ultra SPARC processors while sustaining price and performance. This configuration is ideal for telecom service providers who wish to significantly reduce their IT infrastructure costs and power requirements.
This benchmark, Intec adds, shows that its solution can support millions of prepaid subscribers on a grid of Sun SPARC enterprise servers with CollThreads technology.
