Vodafone U.K. has signaled a change of direction by cutting jobs at its headquarters at the same time as it recruits more retail and sales staff. Around 450 jobs are expected to be lost at Vodafone's Newbury HQ. The company is planning to recruit a further 330 sales staff for its 350 stores and 130 for its enterprise business. Vodafone is also building a new 850 seat call centre in Stoke-on-Trent and will be recruiting 30 additional staff for its online sales and customer service sections.
