Magyar Telekom chooses HP for service activation

Hungary's Magyar Telekom has contracted HP to develop a custom unified service activation and provisioning platform.

Prior to the deal, Magyar Telekom had been handling these activation and provisioning functions separately for each of its three business units.

But the entire company plans to use a single platform, SPA, which is powered by HP's Service Activator suite.

SPA is currently in place for Magyar Telekom's IP services, and the operator plans to extend it to the remainder of its service portfolio shortly.

The rollout is the first stage of Magar Telekom's move to create a more comprehensive service management layer encompassing all of its OSS elements.
