Matrix to sell base stations in UK

TDC, part of the Abacus Group, has been appointed the UK distributor for a range of GSM, GPS, GPRS and HSDPA terminals from Matrix, a Spain-based manufacturer of wireless terminals solutions.

According to the company, Matrix has engineered a family of plug and play wireless terminals solutions based on Cinterion technology.

The modules are fully integrated, including connectivity and software support to reduce the need for further development and provide a fast track to a working system solution based around a PC or other host platform.

The company's range features three main units: a GSM/GPRS terminal, a GSM/GPRS/GPS solution and a UMTS/HSDPA terminal.

In addition, the company announced that Cinterion, a provider of wireless modules and terminals, has confirmed it is to continue its partnership with TDC, which started in 1996.

No financial details were disclosed.
