According to Informa's latest Mobile Enterprise report, mobile enterprise should have more than 479 million subscribers by and account for 24% of overall mobile data service revenue by 2014.
Driving this growth are mobile operators' interest in new service segments, including the SME and small office, home office sectors, the opportunities created by mobile convergence, growth in end-user outsourcing and software as a service (SaaS).
Mobile enterprise will also provide a huge opportunity for new entrants from the established enterprise IT sector. Device manufacturers will likewise gain from the market's huge growth potential, as this segment will help further boost smartphone take-up.
