Mobile promotions only of interest to 20% of UK consumers, claims survey

UK consumers have little interest in receiving promotional offers via mobile or social media channels, claims a new survey conducted by IPSOS Mori and the Logic Group. The study, which might trigger concern over the uptake of m-wallet services, found that 40 per cent of the 2,000 consumers questioned didn't want to receive loyalty scheme offers on their handsets or via social media apps. By comparison, 46 per cent of those surveyed indicated they are open to loyalty schemes while shopping in High Street stores or retail outlets. Of note, 47 per cent said that a credit or debit card is the preferred route towards loyalty cards. Article
