Motorola provides broadband to Swisscom hotels

Motorola has entered into a global distribution agreement with operator Swisscom, a provider of products and services for mobile, fixed and IP-based voice, video and data communications.

Under the agreement, Swisscom, through its Hospitality Services subsidiary, will deploy Motorola's mT2a PowerBroadband system in partner hotels across Europe and North America.

Motorola said that the mT2a PowerBroadband system has a wallplate which is integrated into the existing telephone jacks in hotel guestrooms. No additional wiring or rewiring is needed. All power and broadband modules are contained within the wallplate, meaning there is no need for separate broadband modems and power supplies.

Financial details of the agreement were not made public.
