Spain has the highest proportion of domestic wireless Internet users in Europe, research by Cisco reveals. The firm’s survey found that 74% of Spanish homes have WiFi, followed by Italy and the UK (71% each). A total of 11,267 adults in 10 European countries were quizzed. In a separate announcement, Cisco has been picked to deploy its Telepresence systems, augmented with managed services from BT, across PepsiCo's major offices worldwide.
 
ZTE has been contracted to build a UMTS network for Cosmote Romania, and to help deploy HSPA+ services by the end of March.
 
Vodafone 360 has opened registration to the Vodafone 360 Developer Conference, to be held at the Mobile World Congress on February 15. Winning app developers will win prizes of up to €1000 ($1,402), and be entered into a competition to win a further €100,000.
