News In Brief: Cisco, Powernet

Cisco is pumping $10 million (€6.8 million) into a seed fund for small businesses in Egypt, to boost innovation in the country. The firm also plans to establish a multi-stakeholder operation to fuel economic investment by local and global firms. 

The majority of UK business leaders back net neutrality, with just 17% stating they would pay for a tiered service, a poll of 100 IT executives by ISP Powernet reveals. Just over a third (35%) of those quizzed believe a two-tier approach will stifle innovation.
