News in brief: Envivio, Ericsson, Truphone

Envivio announced that its Convergence Series video headend has been selected for Türk Telekom's IPTV project in Turkey. Türk Telekom has more than 30 million customers and will use Envivio's equipment to deliver a line-up of standard and high definition channels for its new IPTV service.

Ericsson has performed the world's first demonstration of a VDSL2-based network achieving data rates of over 500Mbps, using vectorized VDSL2 technology.

Truphone, a global provider of low cost international mobile calls, today announced the launch of Truphone Business, a BlackBerry application enabling business users to make international phone calls from their devices at fixed line rates, typically saving 50% or more on call charges, the company claims.
