News In Brief: IMImobile, Acer, NTT Data, Verizon Wireless

Indian mobile firm IMImobile has acquired UK mobile content and services provider WINplc.

Acer, the world’s number two PC-maker, grew earnings 24% to NT$4.29 billion (€99.1 million) in 3Q, claiming its refusal to enter a laptop and notebook price war enabled it to post a record operating margin, Bloomberg reported.

NTT Data is in advanced talks to buy US IT services firm Keane for 100 billion yen (€10.7 billion).

Verizon Wireless will sell Samsung’s Galaxy Tab for $600 (€430), some $30 less than it charges for the iPad, but analysts say the price is still too high relative to the Apple device.
