RIM has extended the expiry date of its hostile takeover bid for Certicom to January 27, despite facing ongoing opposition from Certicom directors.

The iPhone Dev Team lauched its yellowsn0w iPhone unlocking tool over new year as expected, but gadget sites Gizmodo and CrunchGear have reported mixed results from their trials of the tool.

The British government has proposed a collaboration with the US to draw up international rules for English-language websites, such as introducing a movie-style ratings system, the Daily Telegraph has reported.
