Telefonica will conduct a live demonstration of LTE at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next week, using radio and core network  equipment from Nokia Siemens Networks. The demo will use pre-commercial LTE devices, and cover high-resolution video downloads.
 
Marketing firm Pursway is set to expand its presence in Europe and North America after securing $6 million (€4.35 million) Series A investment from Battery Ventures. The firm analyzes the influences affecting mobile user’s behavior to provide highly targeted CRM campaigns for carriers including Vodafone and Orange.
 
Mobile search and mapping firm Telmap has partnered with social media platform provider GyPSii, to offer location-aware user-generated content via a single application. The service will be demonstrated at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next week.
 
Russian long-haul carrier TTK has won a contract from Eurovision to help transmit the HDTV signal for the 2010 Winter Olympics from central Europe into the Russian Federation.
 
Location-based application developer Foursquare has inked a deal with restaurant guide publisher Zagat to offer rewards for Foursquare users which eat at Zagat-rated restaurants.
