Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Essar are India's most congested telecom networks, according to regulator TRAI. There are 129 highly congested areas in India. TRAI has set a benchmark that only one in 200 inter-operator calls should be disrupted by congestion.

Nokia is asking operators to filter or block malicious SMS messages taking advantage of the exploit which allows hackers to disable the ability to send or receive future text messages on S60 handsets, FierceWireless reports.

m-Wise has launched a development kit which allows users to automatically set up fully branded sites to promote and sell mobile content such as ringtones and wallpapers, the company has announced.

China's biggest internet portal Sina has licensed technology from Microsoft that will allow customers to send the first line of a couplet via SMS, and the engine will automatically build rest. Couplet greetings are popular among Chinese during festivals such as the forthcoming Lunar New Year.
