Nielsen, TCS to enter $1.2b agreement

The Nielsen Company and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) have reached an agreement in principle for outsourcing a portion of Nielsen's IT and operations functions worldwide.

The two companies are still in negotiations on a definitive agreement, one that is potentially worth $1.2 billion over 10 years, which they expect to execute in the near future. Under the proposed deal, TCS will assume responsibility for important IT and operational processes and help Nielsen integrate and centralize multiple systems, technologies and processes on a global scale.

TCS also will also be responsible for certain finance and human resource business processes, which will be executed on new TCS-built BPO platforms.
