Nokia estimated to have shipped up to 4 million N8 smartphones

Nokia is thought to have shipped 3.5 to 4 million of its flagship N8 smartphone despite mixed reviews. The company said late last year that it had received the highest level of pre-sale orders in its history for the new phone, but didn't offer any concrete figures at the time.

This latest estimate by Inderes Oy is based on correlations between the number of people looking for information about a specific phone on website search engines, and their subsequent sales. If Inderes' analysis is correct, then the company would have shipped up to 4 million in the three months since its launch last October. Article
