NSN, Genband sign fixed network OEM deal

Genband has agreed a five-year OEM deal with Nokia Siemens Networks to be the preferred supplier of trunking media gateways for fixed networks.

Genband will acquire Nokia Siemens Networks' SURPASS hiG fixed line trunking media gateway product line as part of the deal. It should strengthen Genband's position in the fixed network gateway market and expand the company's international reach, especially in the Asia Pacific region and Central and Latin America. Genband will also take control of R&D team working on the hiG programme and product management, which is based in Brazil.

Nokia Siemens Networks will continue with its fixed core networks solution portfolio and provide service and support to current and future customers.
