NSN joins the Multicore Association

Nokia Siemens Networks has become the newest member of The Multicore Association's executive board. The Association is a global, non-profit organisation focused on developing standards to speed time to market for products that involve multicore implementations,

'As a leader in the network telecoms market, Nokia Siemens Networks makes a notable addition to our membership,' said Markus Levy, Multicore Association president.

Multicore refers to the combination of two or more independent cores into a single package composed of a single integrated circuit (IC) or multiple ICs packaged together.

Multicore represents the most significant trend in processor technology and will be adopted by the majority of system developers seeking higher performance capabilities.

The Multicore Association is working to enable the widespread adoption of multicore processor implementations by setting standards for how systems will be utilised and programmed.
