The European Union (EU) recently imposed a regulation making it mandatory for telecommunications providers to have real-time control over the costs incurred by data roamers.
The regulation mandated that these providers notify each of their subscribers through text messaging when the subscriber has reached a certain threshold of data-roaming charges on his or her monthly bill.
