Orange teams with Microsoft for messenger radio

French carrier Orange is looking to cash-in on the popularity of Microsoft’s Windows Live Messenger in its domestic market by offering its Liveradio service via the Microsoft product.

Windows Live Messenger is accessed by 21 million users in France, making it the most popular instant messenger program in the country, according to Médiametrie NetRatings.

Those users will now have access to 7,000 online radio stations and 11,000 podcasts through a Liveradio icon situated at the bottom of their chat windows.
