Ovum: Smart metering business case is thin

The enormous costs associated with deploying smart meters should prompt utility firms into reducing their network investment requirements, according to a new study from Ovum. The firm believes the business case for building smart meter networks is often thin, and recommends that utility suppliers need to examine ways to manage costs to retain financial stability.
