Qatari operator Qtel is claiming continued success for a domestic data center, after doubling the amount of capacity utilized by local bank al khaliji.
The operator claims the fresh deal boosts al khaliji’s resilience and efficiency by providing it with a full fledged disaster recovery site, along with higher levels of data storage space in the data center. That additional capacity is needed to allow the bank to expand the range of services on offer, the operator claims.
Services being evaluated by the bank include virtualization, a Qtel statement reveals.
Qtel opened its fully redundant data center in 2005, offering Qatari and other regional businesses enterprise hosting, and managed and professional services.
