Spanish football club Real Madrid has selected mobile service bureau InfoMedia Services to develop and manage its direct-to-consumer and on-portal mobile content and SMS operations in the UK.
Under the terms of the agreement, InfoMedia will develop and manage a direct-to-consumer mobile internet site for the club, as well as creating web-based mobile downloads solution, which will be integrated into the English language version of the club's official website. In addition, official Real Madrid microsites are being developed for major UK operators including Orange, O2, Vodafone, T-Mobile, Virgin Mobile and Tesco Mobile.
According to the company, all portals will feature downloadable content, as well official club football news and SMS alert packages.
In addition, InfoMedia will develop subscription services and special offer bundles such as Champions League video clips. The company will also manage the global portfolio of Real Madrid mobile content and distribution through telcos, media partners and Real Madrid channels.
