Regulators postpone review of Tele.Ring takeover

Regulators have delayed by one month T-Mobile International's planned acquisition of Austrian mobile operator Tele.Ring Service, a Dow Jones report said.

The report said the European Commission's review was now scheduled to be completed by April 28, instead of the earlier target of March 28.

T-Mobile had earlier said that the Commission expressed concerns about the deal. It remained confident, however, that it would receive the necessary regulatory approval, the report said.

The Commission feared two such large players in Austria would substantially hinder competition and could lead to price increases, as was reported Monday by the Financial Times Deutschland, the report said.

A company spokesperson said T-Mobile was willing to make further concessions, but did not elaborate, the report said.
