Report: Tablet market booms in Western Europe

Market research firm GfK reports that the sales of tablets in Western Europe have increased by 142 per cent year-over-year during the first six months of 2012. Although these devices are mostly being purchased by private customers, they are also increasingly bought by corporations. In fact, according to GfK, in the first half of 2012, businesses accounted for more than 13 per cent of total sales of media tablets. The tablet boom is also leading to growth in other IT and consumer electronics segments, the report said, including specialty keyboards paired with media tablets. Release
