The role of Deep Packet Inspection in mobile networks

In a crowded mobile broadband market, providers need a way to differentiate themselves with value-added offerings.

By using deep packet inspection, mobile providers now have the ability to create service packages that prioritize, limit and, if necessary, block traffic based on subscriber, application type, time-of-day and other variables.

Such controls enable these providers to meet the exploding demand for broadband applications, while tightly managing their network resources.
