Romanian operator reduces interconnect fees

Romanian telecom regulator ANC is to reduce interconnection fees for Orange Romania and Vodafone Romania to €0.0503 per minute from €0.0604 per minute starting from 1 January 2009.

At the same time and for the first time, ANC will impose an interconnect tariff in line with that paid by other operators on Cosmote, Zapp and RCS&RDS.

Cosmote and Zapp's interconnection fees will be lowered from 1 February 2009 to €0.065 per minute from €0.082 per minute and €0.08 per minute respectively.

From the same date, RCS&RDS interconnection fees will be reduced to €0.0721 per minute.

ANC said it will work towards imposing equal interconnection fees for all five operators during 2009.
