SAS outpaces business analytics market

Growing at 13.9% in 2007 with sales of $2.15 billion, SAS has outpaced the growth of the business analytics market, according to IDC.

From a 12.7% growth last year, IDC projects a slowdown in market growth in the next five years - to a compounded annual growth rate of 9.7% -- due to the economic downturn.

SAS says it expects to continue outperforming the business analytics market even in the face of the economic slowdown.

The company says its competitive advantage lies with the breadth of its software portfolio.

Also, its products provide solutions to business process-specific decision-making and optimization issues faced by organizations in all industries.
