Skyhook launches Wi-Fi positioning service

Skyhook Wireless, a provider of the Wi-fi positioning system, has announced its formal launch in Europe.

The launch includes a coverage expansion throughout the UK and Europe and the establishment of sales and operational offices in the region.

UK-based BuddyPing and Rummble and Dublin-based Locle are reportedly integrating Skyhook's software into their applications.

By working with Skyhook's positioning system, these mobile social networking and search applications are aiming to respond to the consumer demand for fast and reliable location determination in all environments.
