Sony Ericsson unveils new phones for emerging markets

Mobile phone maker Sony Ericsson launched four new handsets, two classic pocket-sized phones and two radio phones aimed at emerging markets, an Associated Press report said.

The Associated Press report said the slim classic phones, T270 and T280, will come in two colors, silver on black or copper on silver. They will be available in selected markets from the first quarter 2008, the report said.

Sony Ericsson said the T280 has FM radio and a 1.3 megapixel camera while the T270 is aimed at business users.

The new R306 Radio opens up into a clamshell with two integrated stereo speakers that face the listener, and the R300 Radio has high performance speakers that allow users to listen to radio without using headphones.

The latter handset, which will be available in the second quarter, has a 0.3 megapixel camera while the R306 Radio has a 1.3 megapixel camera and will be released in the third quarter, the report further said.
