New marketing data released Juniper Research claims that one in every eight mobile users worldwide will take advantage of mobile ticketing services in a few years' time. The firm believes that, by 2015, over 750 million users will be accessing the service to have tickets sent to their mobile phone or will purchase tickets using the handset. Mobile tickets are presently being used by around 230 million mobile phone users, or approximately one in 20. Juniper maintains that, while the use of mobile ticketing is presently concentrated in Japan, Scandinavia and Central and Eastern Europe, the market will rapidly grow in other countries as the transport, sport, entertainment and events sectors become involved.
