Study: 500m to use mobile ticketing for metro, bus service by 2015

Around 500 million people could be using their mobile devices as travel tickets to make journeys on buses, metro services and trains, according to a new report from Juniper Research. Juniper expects mobile ticketing usage to have spread widely from the current concentration in Japan and several European countries by 2015. The report forecasted that the growing momentum behind NFC will spur mobile ticketing and encourage transport firms to adopt contactless payment systems. Article
