The total value of mobile payments will reach $670 billion by 2015, up from $240 billion this year, according to a new study from Juniper Research. Juniper said that all m-payment market segments will experience 2x or 3x growth over the next five years, driven by m-ticketing, NFC contactless payments and money transfers. The growth will come as consumers in both mature and developing countries uses their mobile devices for everyday transactions. The market research firm said that around 20 countries are planning to launch NFC-based services in the next 18 months, leading to transaction values approaching $50 billion worldwide by 2014. Release
