Study: Worldwide mobile messages to exceed 7.5 trillion in 2011

The number of mobile text, picture and video messages sent on a global basis will exceed 7.5 trillion in 2011, according to a new report from research firm Ovum. That number will mark a 12.5 per cent increase over the 6.7 trillion messages sent in 2010. Ovum also forecasts that the SMS-based messaging market will generate revenues of $153 billion (€111 billion) over the year, 8 per cent more than it generated in last year. Article
