T-Mobile offers new 3G/WiFi package

T-Mobile U.K. subscribers can now sign up for a combined 3G and WiFi service, the first time such a package has been offered according to the operator. With 1,200 hotspots T-Mobile claims to have the U.K.'s largest WiFi network and users will also be able to access the operator's 39,000 hotspots worldwide. The new service will cost £12.50 a month when connecting with a Flext mobile contract. Commenting on the new package, Richard Warmsley, T-Mobile's Head of Internet on the Move, said: "We've already built a market-leading high-speed 3G network nationwide, now we're strengthening our lead in mobile broadband by adding our WiFi HotSpots to web'n'walk Plus / Max price plans. So as well as comprehensive 3G HSDPA coverage, you can be sure of a fast connection where it matters most whether it's in Starbucks, the airport, train stations or any other HotSpot location--at no extra cost". The WiFi network will deliver data at speeds of up to 8Mbit/s.
