T-Online eyes midyear launch of IPTV services

T-Online, a division of Deutsche Telekom, will deliver "T-Home," a converged data, voice and video (triple-play) service by the middle of the year, a company statement said.

The firm said it would use Cisco's Internet Protocol Next-Generation Network (IP NGN) architecture to deliver the service.

Cisco would also provide IP set-top boxes supporting the Microsoft TV IPTV Edition software platform, the company said.

T-Online introduced T-Home at CeBIT 2006 in Hanover and would make the service available to its customers in Germany, France and Spain in the second half of 2006.
