T-Online, the Internet subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom, is planning to acquire a 24.91% stake in the Munich-based TV music station operator Deluxe Television, a Financial Times Deutschland report said.
The report, quoting
Germany
's media concentration supervisory body KEK, however, said the planned stake acquisition might not conform to regulations regarding state involvement in broadcasting.
Deluxe operated the station Deluxe Music, transmitted by satellite and cable. All tracks broadcast were also available for downloading or on CD, the report said.
The report said Deutsche Telekom was currently preparing to launch an Internet TV service with more than 100 channels, and it was thought that the firm could be interested in the concept of Deluxe, owing to the combination of traditional TV and online shopping, the report further said.
The TV company declined to comment, while T-Online said it was not currently examining a participation in Deluxe.
