Telecom Italia trials LTE

Telecom Italia Mobile is undertaking a trial of LTE, in collaboration with Nokia Siemens Networks, in selected city areas of Turin, Italy. When its new network is deployed TIM says its customers will be able to access services such as high definition video streaming, video conferencing, online gaming and many other multimedia applications. Earlier this month, Telecom Italia announced the beginning of the second phase of its LTE tests using two 20MHz blocks in the 2500-2690MHz frequency band, allowing data transmission speeds of up to 140Mbit/s per cell.
