Telefónica O2 Czech Republic announced that it will deploy video programming applications to its network provided by Blue Coat Systems, which will enable Telefonica's employees, almost 8,000 of them, to receive corporate TV programmes in their workplace.
Sixteen Blue Coat ProxySG appliances provide video programming from the company's headquarters in Prague to its 15 branch offices connected via the company's WAN. Since early 2006, some 16,000 O2 employees in Germany, the UK and Ireland have been able to keep up-to-date with the company's latest news and follow company events live via video at their workplace.
This is made possible by the Intraview business TV solution from Munich-based service provider Skytec, which operates the service in conjunction with O2. Intraview has become the second most popular communication tool at O2 for direct employee communication.
Some 80% of the 4,000 employees surveyed use the service on a regular basis.
