Telenor is using its home Nordic region to launch a new roaming scheme that will eventually cover all the telco’s global operations.
TravelSure aims to deliver low-cost voice and data roaming for customers in Norway, Sweden and Denmark, to meet growing demand from travelling subscribers. The offers available vary between the countries, with the focus in Norway on data roaming and voice calls in the EU and US; Sweden targeting voice and data customers in China, Europe and US; and Denmark’s offer focusing mostly on voice calls.
Kjell Morten Johnsen executive vice president and head of Telenor’s European operations, says the service extends beyond the firm’s home markets. “People throughout all of Telenor Group’s markets are increasingly travelling across borders and it’s important to be a leader in allowing them to access the full benefit of mobile technology wherever they are.”
