TeliaSonera buys Asian operators' shares for €337m

Top Nordic telecom operator TeliaSonera had bought controlling stakes in operators in Nepal and Cambodia for around 3.2 billion Swedish crowns €337 million (US$488 million), a Reuters report said.

TeliaSonera said it would buy a 51% stake in TeliaSonera Asia Holding from Kazakhstan's Visor Group, giving it 80% of shares and votes in Nepalese operator Spice Nepal and 100% of Cambodia's Applifone.

TeliaSonera said it expected to close the deal on October 1, the Reuters report added.
