Thaicom 5 now in normal operation

Shin Satellite's Thaicom 5 has now been fully tested in orbit following its launch last May 28, with all systems now operating normally.

Following the completion of in-orbit testing, the company had successfully transferred all the customers on its Thaicom 3 satellite to the new Thaicom 5 satellite last July 13.

With the transfer of customers, the satellite is now in commercial service. Shin Satellite, through Thaicom 5, will offer conventional broadcasting and telecom services, as well as introduce technology for broadcasting HD television to the market for the first time in the Indochina region.
