TNZ, Vodafone settle out-of-court over network interference

Telecom NZ's new XT mobile network will launch on schedule after the company settled out of court with Vodafone over alleged network interference.

Telecom has agreed to extend its network filter installation program in exchange for Vodafone dropping its lawsuit, TNZ said in a statement .

Vodafone last week took  Telecom to court, alleging the new HSPA network was causing widespread interference with its existing 3G services.

Telecom CEO Paul Reynolds described the challenge a “sign of desperation” on Vodafone's behalf.

The XT mobile network will go live on May 13.
