Trend Communications has added a Gigabit Ethernet field tester, the Trend Unipro GbE, to range of hand-held testers and local access diagnostic tools. The unit is battery powered and rugged.
The Trend Unipro GbE supports cable tests, verification of power over Ethernet and bit error rate testing, as well as traffic generation, filtering and analysis, IP ping and trace route.
The Trend Unipro GbE executes RFC 2544 tests and verifies connectivity, frame transport and throughput.
The more advanced tests incorporated in Trend Unipro GbE include verification of auto-negotiation when connecting nodes, VLAN configuration and routing, admission control and congestion avoidance mechanisms, quality of service, and the service level agreement compliance.
