Vodafone Group has opened a representative office in Hanoi and will seek investment opportunities in Vietnam, state-run Vietnam Economic Times, quoted by an Associated Press report, said.
The report quoted Warren Finegold, chief executive for global business development, as saying that Vietnam 's mobile market has high growth potential.
Vodafone, the world's largest mobile phone operator by revenue, is expected to invest in local companies that have leading positions in Vietnam, Finegold said in the report.
Vietnam has 33 telephones per 100 people, and two-thirds of the phones are mobile, the report said.
