Webwire: Minitel’s days are numbered; Hungary trials NFC

Minitel, France's text-only information service, will be shut down in mid-2012 after 30 years in operation, despite remaining a profitable business for operator France Telecom.
 
Hungary's three main mobile operators, Magyar Telekom, Telenor and Vodafone, have teamed up to develop NFC services. Trials with Master Card, OTP Bank and loyalty card service SuperShop will be conducted this year.
